Having recently finished our exams, a bunch of friends and I decided to complete the coastal walk which is a 6km walk from, you guessed it, Bondi beach to Coogee beach. The popularity of this walk isn't very surprising considering the breathtaking views and chance to visit five beaches along the way - Bondi, Tamarama, Bronte, Clovelly and Coogee. I'm actually not much of a beach-goer but since visiting so many beaches lately, it's really been growing on me.
We were lucky enough that we planned this walk on a day that coincided with Sculpture by the Sea, Australia's largest annual outdoor sculpture exhibition. (Why is it Sculpture and not Sculptures?) Along the first 2km, which was from Bondi to Bronte, we observed countless amazing artworks. There were pelicans made of old lamp pieces, a sculpture made of colourful bottle caps, a giant walkway counter, a huge frypan and much more.
At some point, we were pretty hungry so we stopped by a fish and chips shop at Bronte for lunch. Typical beach food? Sure thing.

The rest of the walk was actually much more peaceful because the most crowded areas were those with the sculptures. As we continued on our journey, we made the most out of the experience, cherishing the beautiful views we wouldn't see everyday normally.
And... we made it! 6km later, we found ourselves at Coogee Beach chilling, tanning, playing around before heading back to the city for dinner. I would definitely recommend this coastal walk if you can handle walking long distances and appreciate scenic views. In fact, I think I'll be going on this walk multiple more times - next time, Coogee to Bondi style.
