BEAUTY HAUL: PRICELINE, MECCA MAXIMA

I absolutely love reading hauls, especially from Australian bloggers because in the chance that I fancy something, I'll be able to easily go out and purchase it. Here is a little pre-formal haul from early November when my friend and I decided to hit up Priceline's 40% off cosmetics sales. There was nothing specific in my wishlist but I managed to pick up three items and quite a few more for my cousin's birthday (which I don't have pictures of but from memory, majority of the items were from Bourjois and Australis).

From Priceline, I picked up the Maybelline Electro Pop Baby Lips in Oh! Orange! which now that I think of it, was the main item I wanted. The first time I saw these in stores, my excitement levels rose through the roof because they resembled the American version of Baby Lips. Now that it's finally in my hands, I can give you a quick break down: it smells like orange but the scent won't linger and it's just a great basic lip balm. Aside from that, I couldn't resist this OPI nail polish in Blue my mind because it was only $6 (RRP is $20!) and essence lipliner in 08 Red Blush. We later visited another Priceline nearby where I found Revlon Whimsical gift set - each balm stain came out to be less than $4 each and with an RRP of $17.95, how could I put it down? Answer: I can't. Shades included in the set are the matte balms in Elusive and Sultry along with lacquer balms in Provocateur, Demure and Whimsical.

Moving onto Mecca Maxima purchases! Well, technically only one purchase but I also had my eye on NARS creamy concealer of which they were sold out for my shade.  I picked up Smashbox On The Rocks Be Legendary Lipstick Trio, consisting of Legendary, Fig and Primrose, figuring that I'd use one of them for formal. In the end, I used Primrose because it suited my dress best but my pick out of the three would be Legendary, I am one who is easily drawn to the red shades after all... They are long-lasting and overall winners in my books, would definitely recommend them.

Of course since this shopping trip, I've ventured on a few more. I finally picked up the NARS concealer in Custard which is now my all time favourite as well as Origins Drink Up Intensive mask (thank you sis!), which I've also been loving. However, I do think I've had my beauty fix for the year so I'll most likely be focusing on buying other items next time... for instance, clothes, especially in preparation for first year university.

What have you bought recently?

  1. Which shades of those Revlon lippies have you tried & which is your favourite?

I really regret buying a $6 OPI top coat, you chose such a lovely colour and I have boring old clear shit. Never spend more than $3 on top coat I reckon cos it's useless, my nails will chip and I will paint it again anyway!

Now I request reviews for the Smashbox lippies and the Origins mask thank you :)

  2. I actually don't use these lippies often... gave away the Sultry shade to my mother which is probably my favourite one. (But it's okay, she deserves it!)

Haha I'm probably the opposite, I like the top coat and I'm beginning to think I should've got that instead. Then again, I bought this one to experiment so we'll see how I like it.

And again, I'll see! The Smashbox lippies actually aren't as long-lasting as I expected but I'm loving the Origins mask. Do you think you'll be able to stand the smell of it? It smells so nice to me!
